Why research
Evidence before action
Research is CADT's most valuable asset. Rather than pursuing our mission on assumption, we invest in disciplined enquiry — testing frameworks, validating prototypes and gathering evidence — so that every intervention is credible, accountable and replicable.
Our research spans two frontiers: how Bangla-speaking people can genuinely understand Al-Quran, and how Zakat can be structured to create lasting, self-reliant livelihoods for the poor. Both begin with the same conviction — that value-based knowledge, rigorously developed, can drive real human and social progress.
Focus 01 · Academy of Quran
The UQ4U research angle
Understanding Quran for You (UQ4U) is a first-of-its-kind research program in Bangladesh. It applies second-language-acquisition theory to design a Cambridge-inspired curriculum that enables learners to understand Al-Quran in its original Quranic language — supported in Arabic, Bangla and English.
Curriculum design
A tailor-made script, not a translation — engineered so learners understand meaning by reciting alongside Al-Quran, without prior Arabic proficiency.
Prototype & trials
Draft scripts for para (juz) 1–5 validated through a trial batch of 200+ hours of lesson practice, now under review to solidify the prototype.
Scaling the evidence
Feedback from a larger clientele, a dedicated talent pool and infrastructure to optimize outcomes and sustain the program.
Focus 02 · Academy of Zakat
A framework-based Zakat model
Through Momota Kendro, CADT researches how Zakat can be applied in a market-oriented and Shariah-compliant way. The work defines localized poverty alleviation and Zakat eligibility, and develops a family-centred, self-reliant livelihood model — piloted with nearly 400 people across three villages in Fultala, Khulna.
Define
Establish localized poverty measures, Zakat eligibility and the purpose of Zakat (Maqasid Al-Shariah) within the local context.
Test
Pilot a self-reliant family model with a growing Zakat fund, tracking outcomes over a three-year horizon.
Verify
Document a verified, accountable and replicable set of processes for using Zakat to change lives.
Publish & scale
Share findings through ALIPA so the model can be adopted more widely toward a just, hunger-free Bangladesh.

ALIPA maintains a growing collection of books and reference kits across subjects — from Fiqh and Islamic finance to peace-building and talent grooming. Publications such as our Quran Sohayika (Quran study aid) make research outputs accessible to the wider public.
